Volunteers

What’s involved with being a Volunteer with Scouts Canada in Sackville?

We have a variety of roles you can volunteer in. Whether you’re interested in being a full-time or part-time leader or if you’d like to help out by sitting on our executive council, we always appreciate help.

Leaders can be attached to either Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, or Scouts. Beavers are aged 5-7, Cubs are 8-10, and Scouts are 11-14. Beavers, Cubs & Scouts meet once per week on Monday evenings, with weekend outings about once every 4-6 weeks.

Our executive meets about once per month. It consists of a leader from each of the three sections (Beavers, Cubs & Scouts) as well as a Treasurer, Secretary, Chairperson, etc. The executive manages our group funds, registration, etc.

Our local group is called the 1st Tantramar Scouts. We cover the costs associated with registration for leaders, provide you with a leader uniform, and cover your costs whenever you take training to learn more about Scouting.
